An Chéad Tine Art Gallery is proud to announce the return of The Kilkenny Portrait Show 2025, a prestigious exhibition celebrating contemporary portraiture from across Ireland.
Open to artists over 18 from the island of Ireland (both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland), this juried competition will be selected by acclaimed Irish artist Bernadette Kiely, Aosdána. €1,000 will go to the winner of the best portrait.
Artists working in all hand-made media—painting, drawing, sculpture, and ceramics—are invited to submit their portrait work, with the only requirement being that the figure(s) are strongly implied.
Please note that photography and digital printouts are not eligible.
The exhibition will open on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, running until April 26th.

A €20 submission fee applies, with sales commissions during the exhibition run set at 25% and 20% for commissions arising. Maximum of 2 entries per artist.
